Georgetown Ministry Center Organization
A community response to homelessness
GMC is governed by a volunteer board of directors composed of one or two representatives each from the Georgetown Clergy Association, Georgetown University, and each participating congregation. GMC also has a representative from the Georgetown Business and Professional Association, the Citizens Association of Georgetown, and a formerly homeless person on the board of directors.

GMC's daily activities are managed by a paid staff consisting of a director who divides his time among clients, program development, and staff supervision and training: a full-time program manager: a part-time office manager; a consulting psychiatrist; three shelter staff; and, a part-time office person. GMC also employees two to three AmeriCorp volunteers for street outreach.

GMC's unique presence in Georgetown makes us an essential part of the "net"
of services cast to the city's homeless population.
